John Cappiello is “Of Counsel” to the firm. He is an experienced litigator and legal writer who has practiced in the field of family law since 2017. A former associate to the firm, John spent many years working for the New York City Administration for Children’s Services as a supervising attorney and is now a solo practitioner. 

John focuses on all facets of family law litigation and mediation, including: mediating family disputes; alternative reproduction litigation and family building; custody/guardianship/visitation litigation; foster parent representation; and appellate research, brief writing and argument.  

John is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland (2011) and Northeastern University School of Law (2016). He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. John is a proud member of the LGBT Bar of NY, where he previously served as co-chair of the Family and Matrimonial Law Committee (2020-2023), and the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York. John is also an Advisory Council member to the non-profit organization FamilyKIND.
